In the first quarter of the year 2021 the VC deals for female-founded, US-based companies was already in line with the totals of 2021 and. In the same period, US VC startups with female founders have raised more than $2 billion. In fact, female-owned companies across the United States are raising venture capital at a higher rate than they have at any time over the last 10 years, which is a positive change in the way women are represented.

Yet despite a remarkable year, it’s not the complete picture. The odds are still towards female entrepreneurs, particularly those who don’t have a male co-founder. COVID-19 is having a significant influence on women founders. The group comprised of senior female VCs have called for more capital to be poured into female-led ventures within Europe this year. Despite an unprecedented amount of capital poured into the venture, female founders only received 0.7 percent of the capital. In the latter half of 2020, PitchBook revealed that the quarterly amount of VC funding available to female founders fell to an all-time low of three years.
